What We Do

At Huntingdon House School, we are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every individual can thrive. Our holistic approach to education ensures that each student receives personalised support tailored to their unique needs and aspirations.

We are an independent, co-educational day school for individuals aged 11 – 16 years, who have a range of specific educational needs. The majority of our students will have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Speech Language and Communication Difficulties or other Specific Learning Difficulties as their main presenting area of special needs and are funded through their local authorities.

Our Curriculum Intent

We have designed our curriculum with individuals' learning at the centre. We recognise that a curriculum needs to be broad and balanced and offer students opportunities to grow as individuals as well as within a community. Through a combination of learning techniques, we aim to ensure individuals enjoy learning and feel prepared for life after school.

Admission

We welcome applications from students who would like to embark on a journey of academic excellence and personal growth. At Huntingdon House School, we pride ourselves on providing a supportive and inclusive environment where every individual is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Adaptive Teaching

Differentiated learning strategies, including dialogue, task variation, choice, support, pace and outcome differentiation, cater to individual needs, ensuring engagement and progress for all learners.

Breadth and Depth

Our curriculum offers breadth and depth by covering national curriculum subjects and providing a range of experiences. We emphasise social, moral, spiritual and cultural development, preparing individuals for later life by teaching social responsibility and behaviour. Our curriculum principles include challenge, coverage, progression, personalisation, complexity, coherence and relevance.
